Sound to Sea Join Our Team
Sound to Sea hires seasonally in the summer for fall positions and in the late fall for winter/spring positions.
Join a staff of 9 instructors to teach classes on the five major island habitats that are part of our property; the beach, maritime forest, freshwater pond, salt marsh and sound. Class topics vary from island ecology to coastal cultures and human impacts. Instructors utilize hands-on activities to teach multidisciplinary curriculum, create programs and classes for diverse populations and are trained to work with and care for birds of prey and salt and freshwater aquariums. Instructors have overnight duty one night every two weeks and will be trained in Basic First Aid and CPR. Year-round employment opportunities are available.
Requires: Degree in related field, ability and desire to work with elementary school students through senior adults in small and large group situations; creativity, flexibility, sense of humor and a desire to live in community. Previous teaching experience helpful.
Salary: weekly stipend plus room, board, and medical insurance.
